Since my last blog, a big thank you goes out to all those lovely readers who managed to pick a copy of The Wharf Butcher. Within 4 weeks of it going Kindle, it managed to reach the Top 200 ranking.Well it has finally happened! Both Waterstones and W H Smith have given me the green light with The Wharf Butcher. Fingers crossed it will soon be arriving in their stores and its great news!

As my dairy fills with engagements, my next Author Talk and Book Signing, is at Newcastle Library. That’s on Tuesday 17th May, room 7, at 6:00 pm. I hope you can make it, do come along and let’s make it another great night. My next book signing is at W H Smith at the Gateshead Metro Center on 2nd July sometime between 9 am – 7 pm. I will keep you posted on my Facebook page as to the actual times and of any other developments as they come in.

The second in the DCI Mason and David Carlisle series of Tyneside Crime Thrillers – Satan’s Beckoning is now finished. I’m now getting it ready for the next stage before it finally goes to the publishers. It’s currently with the police, but it’s not what you’re thinking. No, they are checking it for technical continuity to ensure I’ve not written something stupid down. It ain’t easy you know, and there are so many things you find out when you sit down and actually chat with them. After that it then moves on for proofreading, and then onto the publishers for final editing – cover design etc. Publication date is still set for September – fingers crossed.

It is always interesting to know what a “Top Ranked Book Reviewer” thinks about your work. Today Maxine (Booklover Catlady) posted her review across Facebook, Goodread, and the major Crime Writer Groups.  Here’s the link to Maxine’s review for Goodread. Enjoy! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/27793275-the-wharf-butcher

As ideas for the third in the DCI Mason and David Carlisle series of Tyneside Crime Thrillers take shape, I’m hoping to spring a few surprises on you all. That’s the thing about you entering into my little world, you never know where it will take you. Or what will happen to some of the characters?

That’s it for now it has been a busy month.
